The Breath Control Project

Breathe in…
And out…
And… don’t… stop.

The Breath Control Project is multi-genre artwork by Caroline Wright about the inhalations and exhalations that form the melody, rhythm and punctuation of our everyday existence.

Although breathing is universal, it is personal. It is a sustaining action that can be both conscious and subconscious, completely taken for granted and the sole focus of life itself.

For The Print Room at The Coronet, Caroline will show two elements of The Breath Control Project:

Notes takes the form of a one-person installation, situated in the glorious main auditorium of Print Room. With one exhalation find yourself connected to the breath of those who have stood before you, alone on this stage.

Osmosis is a short performance bringing together scientific, medical, musical and philosophical perspectives based on our respiratory rates and patterns. Created and performed in collaboration with acclaimed soprano Laura Wright, and featuring performances by local participants, Osmosis will cause you to – literally – catch your breath.
