HackCop21: A Laboratory of Art Activism to Co-design Creative Resistance for Climate Justice
2-7 June, 10am-6pm, applications now closed.
Are you an artist, activist, developer, graphic designer, hacker, gamer, web designer?
Do you want to help prepare the world's largest Non-violent Civil Disobedience Direct Action Adventure Game?
Merging the streets with cyberspace, this five-day workshop asks participants to co-design a creative resistance in preparation for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP21 in Paris, December 2015.
This is The Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination’s (Labofii) second Hackathon to create the Climate Games, a new breed of creative mischief with no boundaries between online and offline resistance.
During the COP21 summit hundreds of people will play the Climate Games. They’ll work in teams to coordinate actions using an open source app that tracks the fossil fuel lobbyists, identifies the corporate green-washers and shows police positions on live maps. Teams will score points for their actions and can upload images and information to share.
Author Naomi Klein tolds us that the climate catastrophe changes everything, and for us at the Labofii this includes the way we make art and create resistance.
